These hand thrown, high-fired earthenware vases echo human personalities with their figurative shapes. They have a primal and universal quality too; we see such forms in archaeological sites from pre-history all over the world. In times of great flux and consternation, there’s a comforting familiarity in the constants of form, function and feeling.
Given the nature of the hand-thrown process, the material and the glaze, these vases are similar in form but individual in colour and character.
