These intriguing vessels combine stoneware and woven plant matter. They are the results of a collaborative experiment between Forfar-based willow weaver Rachel Bower and ceramicist Maria Nordgren. As well as willow, Bower uses willow bark, papyrus, iris leaf, daffodil leaf, day lily leaf and crocosmia leaf in her compositions. Poetic and tactile, the forms have an almost talismanic property; materials, skills and techniques combine to deliver something more powerful than the sum of their parts.

Please note: the white stoneware is unglazed, so these vessels should not be filled with water.
