Alice Meikle is a Glasgow-based photographer who recently discovered a passion for knitting after breaking her leg. Luckily for us, and for her, Alice’s passion is also an extraordinary skill. Under her label Touch Knit, she is rapidly building a name in Scotland for her cult balaclavas – all hand-knitted over 8 hours from combinations of merino wool, silk and mohair. As they are knitted by hand, each balaclava is slightly different but every one will do its job of keeping the cold at bay on bitter winter days.
