Side Table

Chalk Plaster

£7,800.00

Description

A magnificent six-fluted column side table by master plasterers Ffion and Steven Blench, who go by the studio name Chalk Plaster. The table is made from scagliola, a late 16th Century Italian technique using gypsum and pigment to imitate marble. The pigment here comes from stones ground from Wemyss Bay on the Fife coastline. There is a pleasingly chunky, graphic modernity to the form, which complements its classical roots.

Height 54cm , diameter 36cm.
