Three textured vessels of distinct personality in glaze and finish – strident and stroke-able. Claire explains, ‘I was looking to explore texture and surface decoration here. Methods of carving, trimming with a textured tool, and chattering were all used to add depth to the surface of each vase. Warm, rustic glazes developed in my studio pool over the surfaces and accentuate the marks made by my tools and my hand.’
