Description

We are utterly seduced by the levity and industrial wit of David Taylor’s aluminium work. David is a Scot who has lived in Sweden since 1989. He studied silversmithing at Konstfack in Stockholm, and now lives and works in Mellösa, a lakeside town a couple of hours’ drive from Stockholm. Following the 2008 crash when the price of silver sky rocketed, he began working with less precious materials. He developed a love for aluminium for its similar properties to silver, with the added possibility of trial-and-error due to its greater affordability. His candelabra are made from square-profile aluminium tubes, heated and bent, then mounted on aluminium blocks. Romantic and restrained, refined and light-hearted, precious and playful, they bear the dichotomous hallmarks of the Scottish personality with aplomb.

Please note the candelabra is sensitive to fingerprints; the good news is these can be easily removed with methylated spirit or acetone. Each is slightly different in size - so the below measurements are to be treated as approximations.

Height 65cm, width 68cm, depth 10cm.
