Ran Out of Steam Vase

Morven Mulgrew

£95.00

Description

These press-moulded stoneware groggy vases are from a small series called Running Out of Steam by Glasgow-based ceramicist Morven Mulgrew. An iron oxide wash and iron rich glaze on the exterior contrasts nicely with a browny ochre glaze on the inside. Morven was keen to make forms of individual character within a standardized process such as press-moulding, simultaneously playing with a recognisably classical form. As she says herself: “The vases are Scottie-does-Greek-holiday-goes-to-a-museum-comes-back-inspired-themed.” Sheer joy.

Width 14cm, height 21cm.
