Patched Console Table
Oisín Gallagher (Studio Settle)£4,400.00
Description
The Patched Console table is a handsome, elegant and expertly handcrafted item of furniture that echoes its historic ancestors in form, with a quiet modernity all of its own. It is constructed out of solid American white ash with subtle Dutchman patches inset throughout.
Oisín describes the thinking behind his process: ‘Rather than patching to replace knots or damaged wood, this repair method is used in a decorative way in a nod to the intricate inlay of traditional console tables. The patches follow the grain but shift slightly to create movement throughout the piece, while the grain runs vertically down the apron and legs to evoke the look of solid wood. The table is finished in a hardwearing water-based polyurethane impregnating oil for parquet flooring and wooden furniture, leaving an untreated and matte appearance that is incredibly durable.’
Height 78cm, width 76cm, depth 33cm.
