Description

‘These sculptures are an ongoing series of small desk or shelf-based works,’ Jack explains. ‘They are roughly 70mm square each, so palm-sized, and often made of two counter parts: a glass and a cast aluminium element. I see them as architectural investigations. Almost like scale models, each is a sculpture in its own sense and also a projection of something that might exist at a totally different scale.  Made up of two components, they can be repositioned in any configuration, like a desk toy. I like the idea that they are propositions, moved into and out of the light, the aluminium making space for or concealing the glass.’
