Wings: Large Giclée Print

Emma Boyd-Madsen and Alice Meikle

£700.00

Description

“Our project was born from my sibling Jay, who wants to fly. We developed the idea together, inviting Jay and their friends to a workshop, where they would make objects of flight. Rather than instructing them we wanted to provide the conditions that allowed them to take the lead. The idea of flight also felt interesting in relation to Scottish folklore where magic powers are a constant theme. We sent out invitations to think about aspects of flying and folklore, and we assembled some basic materials – fabric, feathers, rope - and headed up to Blackford Hill together. I had been nervous about what might happen relinquishing any creative authority. I needn’t have worried - there was a big explosion of energy.” Alice Meikle
